Position: Remote Utilization Review Nurse

Position Overview:

As a Remote Utilization Review Nurse, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our clients receive the appropriate level of care and services. You will work remotely from your home, and will be responsible for reviewing medical records and treatment plans to determine the medical necessity and appropriateness of services. You will also collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement care plans that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct thorough reviews of medical records and treatment plans to determine the medical necessity and appropriateness of services

- Communicate with healthcare providers to gather additional information and clarify treatment plans

- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans that meet the needs of our clients

- Utilize evidence-based guidelines and industry standards to ensure quality and cost-effective care

- Identify and report any potential quality of care issues

- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all reviews and communications

- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on industry changes and best practices

- Adhere to all HIPAA and company policies and procedures

Qualifications:

- Active and unrestricted RN license in the state of Texas

- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, preferably in a hospital or managed care setting

- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes, and treatment modalities

- Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills

- Ability to work independently and manage a high volume of cases

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to adapt to changing workflows and processes

- Experience with utilization review, case management, or discharge planning is a plus
